Meet Mr Vegetable Man!

Another one of the creations by Jack and I for his news day at school. This term kindergarten have been focusing on the Farm, animals, vegetables all those sorts of things. They currently have chickens in their class room waiting to be hatched (yes the eggs are in the incubator) along with about 8 chicks that have already hatched. They go each week to the school farm, to help the farmhand with the animals, for Jack the farm has been a highlight to each week. This weeks news involved making a vegetable man and describing what vegetables you used and how you made it. I cant wait to see how he went since he was having trouble remembering the names of the raddish, turnip and asparagus, considering its something he doesnt ever eat, except in soup, but he dont know that either.

Jack had the idea of using sultanas for the eyes, nose and mouth.

A very short post by me today. Ive been finalising holiday plans this morning, had to order the safety seat for Bee in the hire car , confirm that Mart actually had a return flight since I couldnt locate any flight details, and first thing this morning I mowed the top tier of back lawn, damn good excercise that. We are expecting the excavator this afternoon to finalise the price to dig up the bottom lawn so when we get back from darwin we’ll have nice new turf on its way.

Last night I had the strangest dream, it came from out of nowhere, I don't know what made me dream of this.

I was at a family function with my Mum and my Aunty (by marriage). There were alot of other people around. I was sitting at a round table with my Mum and Aunty. On the table was a red coke bottle lid, the type from one of those plastic bottles of coke.My aunty says "hi Mum hi Sis, how you going". I thought she was nuts. Dee said "my Mum and sister are standing just there, look, see" My Mum then said "to see you have to believe".I thought they were both crazy. I mean seriously, I remember clearly thinking what the hell are these two talking about. To prove my point I said "if there is anyone there, prove it, move this lid". The lid then slid very slowly from one side of the table to the other. I remember panicing and shaking. I then woke up.

I fell back to sleep again, and then found myself in a field, or could have been a farm, I remember looking out to the field thinking I believe I believe, and then very slowly I see two spirit type silhouette figures emerge in front of me. These were definately two females. You could look straight through them, but you could also see them, not perfectly formed facial features but I could definately tell who one of the people were; an older woman, very small frame, the hair was grey and Im certain she wore glasses. My Auntys Mum. The other woman was much younger, couldnt see her as clear but I assume was my auntys sister who died tragically in an accident. We had never met. I said "I see them Dee, I see them." I then woke up.

I fell back to sleep again and dreamt that I was at my Mums, still lots of people around, I think they were family, I remember hearing music, it was very similar to a christmas day at my parents house. I walked out the back door, past the sandpit and the two woman were there again. I dont remember feeling scared this time. It was like I was used to them being around "I said Hi, how you going" and kept walking. My Mum was leaning over the pool gate and tapped Dee on the shoulder and said "dee, look, shes getting real good at this".

It felt like once I started to believe I had this spirits following me everywhere.

I then woke up and thought to myself. Oh my god, Ive dreamt of my Aunties Mum and Sister.

I went about my normal morning routine and called my Mum after I dropped Jack at school. My Mum is a very spiritual type person, she believes in spirits and that spirits come to you in your dreams. She asked if I possibly could have been my Aunty and my Bubcha and is it possible that I may have got them confused. Im so certain it wasnt my Nan, my Nan was a big woman, stocky woman, even when she died.

My Aunty and Uncle have been going through some tough times as late, could it be that they are trying to send a message to my Aunty, just to say that they are around. I dont know? I feel quite freaked out, Ive never dreamt like that before, but its exactly how I imagined a spirit to be, if I ever saw one.

Or, was it just a dream!

Luna Park Fun

Mart had to go Wakefield Park for another Autosports day on the weekend, which meant that the kids and I had to fend for ourselves on Saturday. I decided instead of spending the day at home, with them both bored as hell, I would take them to Luna Park. It was such a nice day, so nice that you could even say it was hot.

Its been many many years since Id been to Luna Park, so long that I can only just vaguely remember going. We all had a great time, and once Hayley got over her fear of the seagulls (yes, she was scared of the seagulls) she really relaxed and enjoyed herself. We really needed an extra person, as Jack wanted to go on all the scarier rides, but so did Hayley, she wasn't allowed due to height restrictions but she also made it impossible for me not take Jack. She wasnt even happy to wait with her Nanny until I bribed her with game on the clowns so I could go to the rollercoaster, which turned out to be a to long wait anyway.

I could only imagine how long the day would've been had we stayed at home. Unfortunately that evening Jack got extremely sick. He had such a bad fever and kept saying his head was sore. He couldnt sleep, so we were awake downstairs from 2am Sunday morning. Jacked managed to doze in between groaning and moaning episodes but I thInk I slept about 2hrs the entire night. Sunday I went and got the repeat Abs that the Dr thought he may need and started him back on them. He struggled through most of Sunday, and many meltdown moments, but only managed to sleep half hour during the day, it was a big struggle trying to get him to sleep last night as well, I gave up and just let him be, once asleep he stayed that way till 8am this morning. We decided to keep him home today, he definately needed another day of rest and relaxtion.

So, in a nutshell that was my weekend. I have tonnes more luna park photos, to many to put on typepad but you are more than welcome to view them Luna Park Pics .

Spring!

Finally, its spring! It feels spring. I love spring. I love that its not to hot, and not to cold. I love how you can open the windows and everything smells so fresh and clean and I love how this is just the lead up to summer. Give me hot rather than cold anyday.

So what did I accomplish from my list I posted the other day. Hardly anything.

Finish off accounts for the Accountant – NOPE!
Organise Bobcat driver – called but of course didnt return call.
Organise booster seat for hire car
Look for a letterbox
Buy my outside lights
Buy fairy costume for Hayley – DONE!
Book flights home from Daydream Island.

Accomplished one thing out of that list, but I haven't been doing entirely nothing. Im crazily de-cluttering. Spring cleaning if you want to call it that. I don't know how you can accumlate so much stuff in such a short amount of time. If I havent used it in the past year then its gone, its gone to the dump or the salvos. At least its not taking up my storage.

Jack enjoyed his excursion on Thursday. They arrived back at school at 2.30 all worn out. Im told alot of walking was done, they milked a cow, and rode a tractor. Im standing at school waiting for my boy, just watching all the kinder kids walk back to their classrooms, and Im waiting to see Jack. My heart skips a beat for a moment when I realise that he hasnt come past yet, of course all these horrible thoughts entered my mind, "they left him at the farm", little did I realise he is standing right in front of me. I totally didnt recognise him. What happened to my little fat chubby baby. He turned into a tall, and somewhat lanky 6year old that I totally didnt recognise. Ive been thinking about that alot lately. He is more than half way through kindergarten, and changing in oh so many ways. I miss my baby.

Im taking the kids to Luna Park tomorrow, Mart is away overnight and wont be back till late evening tomorrow so I thought Id get out of the house, enjoy some sunshine and fresh air. Oh and I mustnt forget to vote.

Totally feeling awake. Thats no good for this time of night. Jack has an excursion tomorrow, they are off to Farfield City Farm. I should be organizing his excursion bag, but instead I'm sitting here wasting time on Facebook.

Heaps running through my head at the moment, maybe if I document it all then I might be able to feel slightly more content.

Pay for Darwin accomodation
Look for a letter box (yup its been a year and I still dont have one, really I just like the company of my postie)

Buy a new fairy costume for Hayleys Fairy birthday party she is going to on Sunday
Pay for flights home from Daydream Island (otherwise we wont get home, actually I like that idea)

Theres more but Im gonna go try wind down. Wonder how much ill be able to cross off that list tomorrow.

Soccer Gala Day

The 30th August was Jacks Soccer Gala Day, it was all a bit of fun, the team had coloured hairspray in their hair and played two great games which they both won.

We are yet to have the soccer presentation day and team BBQ, it has been cancelled twice due to bad weather; its currently planned for the 28th September but lets wait and see what the weather has planned.

I enjoyed it so much, but I must admit that by about 10.30pm was getting a little bit lonely and was starting to wonder when the rest of my family would get home.

Mart took the kids to the Monster Truck Challenge with friends from Jacks school. I wasn't to keen on sending Hayley at first but when she found out that her bestie Paris was intending to go there was no chance I had of stopping her. I made sure I explained to her that she cant just decide when she wants to come home, she has to stay until its over. She did really well, and only got whingy when she started to get tired about 9pm.

Me, on the other hand enjoyed the peace and quite and really you have no idea how much housework I managed to accomplish in such a small amount of time. Things get done so much quicker when you dont have a little shadow following you everywhere wanting to help. So I was on my own, from 3pm till 11pm. The longest time ever I think without my children. Ihad free run of the TV, ate what I wanted for dinner, went out got some groceries in peace and quiet, it really was bliss.

Was a bit concerned about how Mart would take her to the toilet if she had to go, obviously he couldnt go into the ladies; he said he'd check if they had a toilet in the parents rooms, but in the end he just carried into the cubicles in the mens toilets, on her way out she says "Daddy those Men are weeing on the wall, thats disgusting".

Fathers Day

Fathers Day has come around again. I remember last years so clearly, down at our local pub, my parents, us and the kids, was a great day. Today's was just as good, some relaxing time spent with the family. I was kinda hoping for the kids to sleep in since they both didn't get home till 11pm last night (but thats a whole new post) but of course Jack was up early and Hayley followed about half hour later. Jack so badly wanted to wake up his Dad, and give him his presents though there was only handmade gifts this year from both kids and Jack also had a new hat to add to Marts collection that he purchased from the Fathers Day stall at school. I managed to convince Jack to let Mart have a bit of a sleep in, but thats unusal for his sunday morning anyway.

At lunch time we headed over to my grandparents house for the most delicious meal that I have had in such a long time. I love my Grandmothers cooking, I purposely didnt eat to much breakfast yesterday as I knew I wasnt going to be able to resist what was put in front of me. Food just kept coming and coming. We sat outside and chatted with my parents, grandparents and my Uncle and Aunty.

After eating ourselves stupid we headed back towards Hoxton Park to visit Marts dad for a while. Was feeling to full to do much else other than lay on the couch and watch the kids play Xbox. So that was our Fathers day for another year.

Sick

I miss my bloggin but Im sick, gawd cant even begin to describe to you how sick Ive felt in the last two weeks. Body aches and pains, glands so swollen that I cant turn my head, such severe sinus my face hurts to touch, hurts to cough, shivers, everything that you can have I have got. Its been two weeks now, I dont know if Im feeling better cause I have to keep taking painkillers to be able to function.

Blah.
